Did Cody Rhodes' concern for Tonga Loa show true sportsmanship or a sign of weakness in the ring?

WWE held the annual Money in the Bank this weekend at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. In the main event, Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, and Jacob Fatu faced the team formed by Kevin Owens, Randy Orton, and the undisputed champion of WWE, Cody Rhodes. When the smoke settled in the end, it was The Bloodline that attained victory.

Near the end of the ultra-violent bout, the good guys took control of the match. Cody Rhodes came very close to taking the victory by applying the Cross Rhodes to Solo Sikoa. However, a very driven Jacob Fatu intervened to level the scales. Sikoa managed to hit the Samoan Spike on Rhodes to achieve victory by the count of three. And with that, the Bloodline prolonged their dominance in the WWE.

Before the match began, there were doubts as to which member of the Bloodline would be left out of the fight. But we finally got the answer, as Tonga Loa was the one chosen to stay at ringside. However, he still managed to become an important piece in a fight that soon turned into a final massacre. His botched yet effective low blow stopped Owens from finishing the match, while his interferences too helped his team get the upper hand. But the ring rust was purely visible for all to see, as evidenced by the botch, as well as a moment of concern that the American Nightmare showed toward his opponent.

The moment in question came when the American Nightmare hit a suicide dive outside the ring. He crashed into Loa, who then fell right on the edge of the commentary table. And while many would cover their heads while falling to avoid crashing against the table, Loa did not do so. This prompted The American Nightmare to take a quick look at his opponent right after the move to check if he was okay. Because the WWE and its superstars surely take head injuries very seriously. But was the superstar actually ok?

Tonga Loa leaves Cody Rhodes worried

It seemed like Loa was completely fine, as he did manage to help his brothers finish the fight. Although it is possible that his triple attempts at hitting a low blow can be a result of mild signs of concussions. Something that only Triple H can reveal if he decides to do so. But fans surely would be hoping that Loa does not make it to the doomed injury list, as the Bloodline has just started getting the momentum they wanted so badly.

Have an interesting take?

This year’s edition of Money in the Bank featured another major botch during the match between Seth Rollins and Damian Priest. Rollins, the eventual loser of the match, actually could’ve won back his title if the referee had completed the three-count on Priest rather than stopping at two. The Judgment Day star completely forgot to break off the pin by raising his shoulders from the mat. This development even led The Game to discuss it at the post-show press conference. Did you notice the botches live on television? Or did you visit the event live? What did you make of Rhodes’ brief act of kindness? Let us know in the comments.
