Is Cody Rhodes right about The Rock's Hollywood politics overshadowing his wrestling legacy?

WrestleMania 40 was fraught with controversy, and we all know how things change on the fly before it transpires. Even though there were many complications throughout this year’s Show of Shows, Cody Rhodes accomplished his task of completing his story. However, it wasn’t all sunshine and roses for the former AEW star’s prospects of doing so. Rhodes finishing his late father’s dream faced a roadblock after Dwayne Johnson returned and proclaimed his intention to fight Roman Reigns. Rhodes recently discussed the backstage politics that occurred that caused plans to change and history to be made.

The former AEW star began by discussing the life of a wrestler and how in this profession, a person must deal with a variety of challenges to succeed. Then he remarked that there are changes in a wrestler’s life when another authority or entity comes to the fold and starts adjusting plans to insert themselves into proceedings.

This might have been a jab at Dwayne Johnson since we know that Johnson wanted to hog the spotlight on himself and Reigns for WrestleMania 40. Cody Rhodes even suggested that if a wrestler survives all of this political drama, he may establish a big name in Hollywood as well. The explanation for this is simple: politics in the film industry are nothing compared to the wrestling industry.

Cody Rhodes in the latest edition of the podcast stated, “That’s why wrestlers do so well in Hollywood. The politics on a Hollywood level are laughable compared to what you’re dealing with in wrestling. ‘Oh, this guy shows up on time. Oh, he had a comment about the writing but it wasn’t a major what to do.’ I feel like we adjust quicker because the business can be so mean to you. You either get out or you adjust.”

Despite completing his story and overcoming Reigns’ Bloodline, the former AEW star has several challenges to overcome in the form of the new Bloodline.

Cody Rhodes’ rivalry with the Bloodline is far from done!

The current Undisputed WWE Champion has been associated with the Bloodline for quite some time and a resolution is far from done. Rhodes is presently taking shots at The Rock, fueling suspicion that a match between the two of them is on the horizon. Johnson himself indicated that the rivalry with The American Nightmare is not over. Upon The Brahma Bull’s return to the promotion, the rivalry could be revisited by the Stamford-based promotion.
