Cody Rhodes spills the beans on that wild night with Jey Uso—what's your take on it?

Cody Rhodes formed an unexpected alliance with the former Bloodline member Jey Uso in 2023. In fact, the American Nightmare helped to orchestrate his standing on the Red brand following his severance of ties with The Bloodline. The duo had a brief yet memorable stint where they clinched the WWE World Tag Team Championships at WWE Fastlane 2023. Although they went on to drop it almost immediately to Finn Balor and Damian Priest, their union offered several thrills and laughs.

Back in mid-2023, The Bloodline was in a vulnerable state with Jimmy Uso abruptly turning on the Tribal Chief at the Night of Champions. The twin brothers flirted with the prospect of withdrawing from the notorious faction. After failing to rise to the good graces of Roman Reigns after repeated attempts, they decided to back off. Only Jey Uso remained strong in his conviction of disassociating himself from The Bloodline. Since then, Jey Uso has been turning the tides in the WWE Universe big time. To truly let go of his past, Jey Uso switched brands to Raw.

There, he had to fight tooth and nail to make amends and pacify fears. The unbridled YEET chants eventually took over among the fans. But it all started with Cody Rhodes initiating the talks to bring him into the red brand. To show that Uso’s allegiance remained true to his words, the American Nightmare allied himself with the former WWE Tag Team champion. The former AEW star even successfully pursued clinching the Tag Team championships from The Judgment Day’s hands in 2023.

After a banger title defense against Solo Sikoa at SummerSlam 2024, Rhodes recalled an endearing story of Jey Uso and himself getting drunk on the team bus ahead of their post-Fastlane interview. The 39-year-old noted, ”Everybody got some, but we realized we needed to re-up for today, so yeah I need to stop saying, it’s always there, go get it, it’s always there. You can probably guess who because I had an infamous press event with him, he took more than one”

Cody Rhodes shares a similar befuddled memory with the Undertaker

Cody Rhodes has mostly been sober inside and outside the ring. The American Nightmare always possesses a kind and composed demeanor that seeps through in his presentation. Even when talking about his fierce opponents, Rhodes maintained his usual gentle undertone in interviews and press meets. When it comes to family, we have seen the WWE stalwart struggling hard to control his tears of joy after gifting them a win/a title. But on the other side, the former AEW star is pretty chill and carefree.

After the historic WrestleMania win, the Undisputed Universal WWE Champion had a moment of blast inside the ring with the whole world cheering behind. But what we couldn’t see was Rhodes getting a little tipsy and calling the Undertaker to thank him for being there, for helping him to achieve the most precious win in his life.
