There have been many times when Cody Rhodes was associated with being the ‘next’ John Cena. While that may not have been the intention that WWE was going for, The American Nightmare surely resembles the WWE legend when it comes to interacting with fans. The duo have different motivations for the same. Cody Rhodes explained to him while talking to Chris Van Vliet.
The reigning champion began by telling CVV that he once visited the locker room at WCW with his father and met The Great Muta who, still covered in his wrestling gear and paint, got down on one knee and tended to the little fanboy in young Rhodes. This experience stuck with the champion even so many years down the line.
“I think Roman Reigns called me political. And I thought– it didn’t shake me at all. It didn’t hurt. Because I thought, no, it seems political. And maybe it looks political, but it’s not. I just like this. You don’t know how long you’re going to have. You don’t know how many spins around the earth you get,” said the top WWE star.
