The WWE Universe has seen several huge wrestlers making their return to the promotion after battling a massive injury. Among them, the two names that cross everyone’s mind are Triple H and Cody Rhodes. Both of them have suffered their share of injuries and overcome them to make a powerful comeback in the promotion. The Game has come back after experiencing all of this way before The American Nightmare. Thus, both of them must have envisioned something great together before Rhodes made his blockbuster return at the Royal Rumble.

Triple H suffered a torn quad during a tag-team match on Monday Night RAW in 2001, where he teamed up with Stone Cold Steve Austin against Chris Jericho and Chris Benoit. On the other hand, the history maker of the 2023 Royal Rumble suffered a torn pectoral muscle injury back in June 2022. Due to the dangerous injury, both WWE legends were out of action for over six months. With these similar experiences, one helped out the other in his journey.

Speaking to Ryan Satin on his Out of Character podcast, the six-time world tag team champion was asked an interesting question that made him a little cautious to answer. The host first shed light on how both his and The King of Kings’ returns were similar and then asked him to share their conversation about Rhodes’ envisioned return.

To this, the 37-year-old answered with all honesty, including his lack of knowledge about the business part of wrestling. As he said, “He was extremely helpful with I did not know if I wanted to come back as a surprise which I had already done at Mania, or if I wanted to make it known that I was coming back.

Thus, Cody didn’t have to make those tough decisions as The Cerebral Assassin was present for that. Not only did he help him with making the major decisions while returning, but also guided him at every step. Whether it was about coaching him or linking him with the appropriate people, he assisted him in everything. It also included the knowledge he shared with him about the injury with his own experience.

Rhodes also admitted how he didn’t know about the struggles one needs to face with an injury, if not dealt with perfectly. He then said, “I didn’t know how bad you know the tendon ruptures ultimately. The type of chronic problems and struggles you can have if you don’t deal with them correctly. But that was something that Triple H was dead on about.
