Cody Rhodes Proves Again Why He Deserves to Be ‘The Face of WWE’ Despite Losing to Roman Reigns Earlier This Year

Cody Rhodes and his rise to the top of the mountain have been spectacular. Ever since his return in 2022, the superstar has swept fans from their feet by generating thunderous ovations wherever he goes. Sticking true to the term Babyface, the American Nightmare has once again proved why he’s the biggest star of the company today.

In a viral video circulating on the internet, we see a wholesome moment of a young fan interacting with his idol in an emotional clip.

After his lackluster initial stint in WWE, Rhodes came back to the organization for the 2nd time around in 2022. 

Despite many thinking his run at the top would collapse after failing to beat Roman Reigns to win the championship at WrestleMania 39, the superstar proved his naysayers wrong by maintaining his momentum as a top draw.

Now, as a face of the Raw brand, the bound-to-be Hall of Famer has once again melted the internet. In a heartwarming post, Rhodes comforts an emotional young fan by hugging him and exchanging a few words. He later signs off on his T-shirt, making the young one stoked.

The gesture proves why he’s in the position he finds himself in. The adulation and emotions he draws from the crowd stand as a testament to this. It’s also due to this support that WWE continues to push the star. Whether it’s winning the 2023 Royal Rumble or main-eventing WrestleMania, the WWE universe can’t wait to continue showing their appreciation for Rhodes as he marches on his quest to win the Undisputed Championship and dethrone Reigns.

Interestingly, this incident also coincides with the time frame when he beat John Cena to establish his position at the top.

Recently WWE Payback created new records by gaining wonderful traction compared to its previous years. However, it was Rhodes who emerged as the biggest victor of the night.

In a stupendous feat, the 38-year-old beat the 16-time world champion by topping the list of individual wrestlers selling merchandise. Not only did he beat Cena, but he also beat the rising super LA Knight and Roman Reigns in the race of merchandise sales.

This comes after Cena passed the torch to Rhodes on an episode of Raw, 6 months ago, signaling its his time to run the show. With his personal triumph over Cena and his presence among fans ever so strong, it seems the American Nightmare is doing a good job of holding the fortress.
