Cody Rhodes‘ documentary was recently released, and the fans got to see his untold story from a more personal perspective. ‘American Nightmare: Becoming Cody Rhodes’ features several moments from the wrestler’s life after he left WWE in 2016. All of these moments are significant to his life and determine the man he is today. So, considering the ups and downs of his life, Rhodes’ loss at WrestleMania 39 is also mentioned.

While talking about the same, the wrestler paid attention to the fact that he was unable to defeat Roman Reigns. Before The American Nightmare could reach this position, Jey Uso had already pinned his cousin in a tag team match. So, considering a similar scenario in a ‘singles’ match, Rhodes spoke his heart out.

The documentary attempted to give fans a personal perspective on Rhodes’ life. Contrary to how a section of the audience could have thought his life to be perfect, there were ups and downs too. Talking about his WrestleMania defeat at the hands of The Tribal Chief, Rhodes started to praise him. Although the two have become rivals now, Rhodes can’t help but praise how long he has reigned.

Cody Rhodes said, “If that is Jey Uso, hats off to him, amazing. Not a shred of jealousy in my body. That is as pure and good a man as you can find. If it ended up a situation where I was able to get back and it was me, I wouldn’t be prepared for that onslaught of feeling.” Uso seems to be a potential candidate to pin Reigns because he has already pinned him at MITB this year. Apart from considering him equally worthy of dethroning Reigns, he also gave the reason why he believes he wouldn’t be able to handle pinning Reigns.

I’m a fan as well, so when I’m watching him and this unbelievable reign that he’s put down, it’s like this conqueror of old. It’s now a time period. Roman has a timeline, essentially. This is the Roman era because of how long he’s held on to these things,” added Rhodes.

Even though right now the 38-year-old is not considering pinning Reigns to be an option, a WWE legend believes that he would ultimately get to this part as well.

The WrestleMania match between Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes had brought tears to DDP’s eyes. The reason for this was Rhodes’ loss, despite the captivating performance he offered throughout the match.
