Cody Rhodes has had two pivotal feuds this year in WWE. The wrestler certainly thinks highly of the chances he has gotten with wrestling superstars. Sharing the ring with Brock Lesnar was also a part of his career that he feels grateful for. In fact, in a recent interview, Rhodes revealed his original thoughts regarding his feud against The Beast Incarnate.

Not only that, but Rhodes even revealed what his mother thought of his rivalry against the monstrous wrestler. After the feud finally concluded at SummerSlam this year, Michelle Rubio, Rhodes’ mother, couldn’t help but reference her son’s former rival to talk about Brock Lesnar.

The American Nightmare recently appeared on ‘After the Bell’. During the interview, he started shedding some light on his last opponent. Despite the pain and struggle that Lesnar had put him through, Rhodes couldn’t stop himself from feeling grateful either. No matter what the dynamic between the two remained throughout the feud, Rhodes has learned an important lesson from Lesnar.

“If ever I needed a lesson in my life about ‘hey, yeah, I know you’re so good and telling everyone you’re best in the world and all this.’ If ever I needed a lesson, I got a master class of an education from those three encounters that I couldn’t have gotten anywhere else,” said Rhodes. Through this, the wrestler was probably implying that he loved the humbling experience he had while feuding with Lesnar.

Moreover, his mother also had something to say about the storyline. The 38-year-old recalled her words, “My mom had given me that where she, not to steal a phrase from The Tribal Chief, but we will. My mom was the one to say, ‘This guy acknowledged you’.”

While quoting his mother’s words, Rhodes remembered his former opponent, Roman Reigns. Rhodes bringing up Reigns could point to a rematch between the down the road. Since their story never got a proper ending, the babyface could subliminally be signaling to us that there is much left to unfold between the two wrestlers.

Because of some discrepancies, the former Intercontinental Champion just became another name in Reigns’ winning streak. However, since WWE didn’t move forward with the storyline further, it made people believe that they were planning something bigger for the two. Days ago, Rhodes’ social media activity teased something similar to his fans.

When Rhodes of this year posted the promotional poster for the WrestleMania 40’s ticket sale, fans noticed Roman Reigns in the poster as well. Since both Rhodes and Reigns were in the poster, there could be a chance that their story might be set to conclude in Philadelphia a year after their first match together.
