If this scenario unfolds, questions have risen about how ‘The American Nightmare’ will wrap up his storyline, especially after his previous Mania setback. However, WWE legend Bully Ray, discussing the matter on the Busted Open podcast, proposed an alternative path. If Reigns loses his championship, possibly to Randy Orton, Rhodes could then challenge ‘The Viper’ at WrestleMania 40.
This could provide Rhodes with an opportunity to achieve what his father couldn’t – winning the championship. Ray emphasized that a match between Orton and Rhodes would offer a compelling narrative, considering their shared history, framing it as a ‘Master and Apprentice’ storyline.
