When it comes to impressive ring gear for Premium Live Events, Cody Rhodes never disappoints. The American Nightmare always finds unique ways to spice up his long white coat for the big stage. With Clash at the Castle just days away on June 15, Rhodes decided to share a quick look at his new gear. At the PLE, the former AEW star will have his rematch with AJ Styles for the WWE Undisputed Universal title.
The two previously contended for the title at Backlash: France, where the fans lapped up every moment of the phenomenal match. However, a rematch wasn’t issued immediately, with The American Nightmare facing Logan Paul at The King and Queen of The Ring PLE. After successfully defending his title in Saudi Arabia, Rhodes was in for a surprise.
Style claimed to be returning during the main event of SmackDown on 31/05/2024. However, this was a nod to when Mark Henry did the same over a decade in 2013. The whole segment was to lure Rhodes out with his guard down so Styles could hit him with the Styles Clash off the steel stairs.

Despite the lack of buildup, fans were excited for the match, and the most recent episode of SmackDown revealed it would be an ‘I Quit’ match. With the title on the line in a foreign land, Rhodes was undoubtedly ready to impress. On Instagram, Rhodes posted a story featuring a look at his potential new gear.
This robe for Clash at the Castle is beautiful. I love how Cody Rhodes tries to incorporate the colours and flag of the country he is competing at into his gear. Little things like that is why I love him.

While all the traditional items like his logo remain, there are nods to the Scottish flag’s color on the coat. While it is unclear if Rhodes will also feature new in-ring gear for the match, this excited fans. This match will be the WWE Universal Champion’s third title defense since becoming the Universal Champ at WrestleMania XL. However, not everyone is happy with his title reign.

The American Nightmare is arguably one of the biggest babyfaces in the WWE. However, he’s been a babyface since his return to the company at Mania 38. Now, with the title, fans want to see more from Rhodes, so there is a massive demand for him to turn heel. During his time in AEW, he was a heel, and fans loved it.
There have been speculations that the former AEW star could turn heel, but with his unfinished feud with Dwayne Johnson, this could take some time. Many have speculated that Roman Reigns should return as a babyface, giving Rhodes the perfect opportunity to turn heel. However, this is all wishful thinking by the fans. The American Nightmare recently completed his 60 days as the champ and may retain his title at Clash at the Castle. What do you think? Should Rhodes drop the title to Styles? And what are your thoughts on his new gear? Tell us in the comments.
