The biggest premium live event of WWE is on the horizon. Fans are all geared up for the exciting clashes which are set to happen at Crown Jewel next week. The wrestling promotion added one more fight to the match card on the October 23rd episode of Monday Night Raw. However, as soon as Cody Rhodes accepted this challenge, the American Nightmare suffered an injury which made his chances of winning quite bleak.

Cody Rhodes ambushed

An unusual thing played out on the recent episode of the promotion’s flagship show. It is usually Judgment Day that interrupts other star’s promos. This time Cody Rhodes decided to do so, as he wanted to confront Damian Priest and Finn Balor. Following this, Priest challenged him to a duel at Crown Jewel. Just as soon as he accepted this challenge, the members of Judgment Day ambushed him.

Dominik Mysterio and Rhea Ripley were seen on the ramp making their way to ambush Rhodes. But Jey Uso emerged to ward off evil. However, JD McDonagh was able to slip past the security and make his way to the ring and attack Rhodes. As the star was overpowered, he was on the losing end. Priest then locked his ankle in a foldable chair and then hit his leg with another, thus inflicting significant damage to his ankle. Jey Uso came to the scene after attending an important matter.

Cody Rhodes and getting injured

The rivalry between Cody Rhodes and Brock Lesnar was something fans were eager to see. It all began at Cody Rhodes’s WrestleMania 39 match in 2023. After his match with Roman Reigns, the star got involved in a backstage scripted fight.  In this ‘brawl,’ the star ended up breaking his arm. However, even after that, he still appeared in the ring with his ‘broken’ hand. And after a while, it looked like his arm was completely healed.

However, ahead of SummerSlam 2023, Cody Rhodes decided to challenge Brock Lesnar backstage for a duel at SummerSlam. The Beast Incarnate decided to wrap Rhodes’ arm in a kimura lock and break it before accepting the American Nightmare’s challenge. However, Cody Rhodes went on to win the match and secure one of the most significant wins in his career. As the contract has been signed and history being repeated, it would be interesting to see how Cody Rhodes will now manage to defeat Damian Priest while fending off Judgment Day at the Crown Jewel.
