At WrestleMania 38, Cody shocked everyone as he made his grand WWE return just weeks after leaving Tony Khan’s AEW.
On tonight’s episode of WWE Raw, ‘The American Nightmare’ indirectly fired a shot at Tony Khan and AEW.

He received a huge ovation from the crowd following his appearance on Miz TV tonight. During the segment, Cody said, “This moment, it has been a long time since I got to be in front of a crowd like this.”
Well, it is not that Cody had not performed in front of a live crowd since his exit from WWE almost six years ago. He had a great time at AEW. But this statement from Cody tonight might not go down well with some AEW fans.
Further, ‘The American Nightmare’ told The Miz, “Do I look the same to you? What do you think I have been doing for six years?”
“Every piece of that road provides me crystal clear clarity on not what I want to do, what I need to do. And that is to win the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship belt.”

Last week on Raw, we saw Cody Rhodes narrate an emotional story about Dusty Rhodes. After that, Cody mentioned he is prepared and finally ready to challenge for the WWE Championship.
The former WWE Intercontinental Champion noted he wants to win the title for the fans, for himself, for his family, and for his father, Dusty Rhodes.
