The city of St. Louis, Missouri will be witnessing the Road to WrestleMania 40 on the 5th of February, 2024. A lot has happened since the recent Royal Rumble and the aftermath hasn’t been in favor of WWE. While many were expecting that Cody Rhodes would be challenging Roman Reigns for a WrestleMania bout on the 02/02 episode of SmackDown, they were met with nothing but disappointment.

On this week’s episode of WWE Raw, the American Nightmare might clear the air on his WrestleMania 40 status. Plus, Gunther celebrates his title reigns and the Kabuki Warriors at the Monday Night Raw. Here is a preview for tonight’s episode of WWE Raw.

Cody Rhodes vs Shinsuke Nakamura

While Rhodes is confirmed for tonight’s episode of Raw, there is no word whether he will be addressing the incident from last week’s episode of SmackDown. Despite whether WWE openly addresses the situation or not, fans will surely cheer for the two-time Royal Rumble winner in the same way as they did during the WWE House Event in Knoxville, Tennessee on 03/02/24. However, another thing that happened that night was Shinsuke Nakamura attacking him backstage after Rhodes was done with his performance.

It is highly likely that Nakamura, who is one of Rhodes’ oldest foes, will be his opponent at the upcoming Elimination Chamber. Tonight, the two will be facing each other in a bull-rope match. For those who are hearing it for the first time, in a bull-rope match, the opponents are tied to the ends of a 14-foot-long bull rope. The only way to win this match is to secure a pinfall or a submission. On top of that, the rope and the cowbell attached to it are legal, meaning they can be used as a weapon during the fight. While fans are excited to see this bout, the only thing they want to know is who will be Rhodes’ WrestleMania 40 opponent.

The Kabuki Warriors on Monday Night Raw

The Kabuki Warriors, consisting of Asuka and Kairi Sane, will be at the Enterprise Center in St. Louis tonight after betraying Bayley last week. The duo will be locking horns once again with Katana Chance and Kayden Carter in a bid to defend their WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles. Asuka & Sane had defeated Chance & Kayden on the 01/26 episode of SmackDown and stripped them of their titles. The Kabuki Warriors will give their everything to defend their titles. However, Kayden & Chance are not going to let this opportunity slide by.

The Fatal-4-Way

Last week, fans saw the British Strong Style (Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate) win the Fatal-4-Way match at the 02/02 episode of SmackDown. This week the DIY (Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa) vs. The Creed Brothers (Julius Creed & Brutus Creed) vs. Imperium (Ludwig Kaiser & Giovanni Vinci) vs. The New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods) will lock horns to decide who will face Dunne and Bate on the 02/09 episode of SmackDown. The winner of the upcoming SmackDown will get to challenge the current Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions, Damian Priest and Finn Balor, at the 2024 Elimination Chamber.

Gunther’s big celebration

It has been 600 days since Gunther had been crowned as the Intercontinental Champion. He became the champion after defeating Ricochet on SmackDown back in June of 2022 and hasn’t been dethroned yet. However, this celebration might quickly turn sour. If fans have not noticed, there have been growing tensions between Gunther and his stablemate, Ludwig Kaiser.

The Ringmaster of WWE has repeatedly called out Kaiser for being incompetent in the ring, despite being a promising star. Today might be the day when Kaiser will lose his calm and challenge Gunther for the IC Championship title at Elimination Chamber.
