Any normal person would tell you the sheer impact that their favorite movie has had on them. The same thing applies to the biggest stars in the wrestling industry. Icons like Sylvester Stallone and Michael B, Jordan are a testament to changing many lives with their various films, and Cody Rhodes seconds that wholeheartedly.

When a person is down, one of the best things to do is to watch some of the best movies they love. Rhodes has done the same thing and there’s no doubt that he connects with the struggles in movies like Rocky and Creed.

Sitting down with Fox, Rhodes discussed some of the most difficult times in his life. One of those times was when Rhodes was going through treatment for his pectoral muscle injury. The interviewer asked Rhodes about the things that kept him going through the pains of recovery. Rhodes did not take even a minute to answer it and answered with two of the biggest boxing movie series, Rocky and Creed.

He explained, “From an entertainment standpoint, I went back to an oldie to a goody with all the Rocky, my favorite being Rocky 3. Rocky 3 is the best because he loses and then he has to get his cardio going and it’s a whole beautiful mess.”

Listening to Rhodes, it was apparent that he was a big fan of Rocky growing up and the new Creed series as well. Having gone through a lot in the past, like leaving WWE because of his booking and restarting his career, these movies must have helped him in some way. But the recent pectoral muscle injury was when Rhodes was the most popular of his struggles covered by the media.

Rocky 3 being his favorite, means that Rhodes loves the underdog, a character that he is playing at the moment. Seeing as Reigns is the giant and Rhodes, the returning underdog, he is playing out his fantasy in the ring. So, just like Stallone’s character at the end of the movie, Rhodes will hope to come out on top.
