AJ Lee referenced at Money in the Bank—Is a WWE return on the horizon for her?

CM Punk‘s feud with Drew McIntyre has been a layered conflict. It started at the Royal Rumble and reached a new level when Punk caused the Scottish Warrior to lose the WWE World Heavyweight title at WrestleMania XL. This led to a massive back-and-forth, resulting in another loss for McIntyre at Clash at the Castle. McIntyre finally got his revenge by laying out Punk on SmackDown. However, this move may have involved his wife, AJ Lee, in the feud.

During the SmackDown episode on June 21/06/2024, McIntyre laid out the Second City Saint after a brutal beatdown. Punk was covered in blood and rushed to the hospital. Moreover, in the aftermath, the Scotsman also stole Punk’s bracelet that had the names of Lee and their dog Larry.

This made the feud personal for the former WWE Champ. This fueled the speculation that Lee could be making her return to keep up her husband’s streak of preventing McIntyre from winning. The Scottish Warrior has been thwarted twice by Punk in his attempts to win the Heavyweight title.

Another feud the WWE could be setting Punk up for is against the Bloodline 2.0. Ahead of being beaten down and exiled by Solo Sikoa, Paul Heyman begged Punk for help. While Punk didn’t answer Heyman, he could feel guilty for what happened to Heyman on the same episode of SmackDown. Fans also have speculated that Bloodline 2.0 could see another addition ahead of Roman Reigns‘ return.

Reigns is said to return ahead or around SummerSlam in August. This will see the OG Tribal Chief take on Sikoa and his new Bloodline members for the seat at the Head of the Table. Fans are excited for the return as the “We want Roman” chants echo through every arena. Only time will tell if Punk teams with Reigns to avenge Heyman. What do you think? Will Lee appear at Money in the Bank? Tell us in the comments.
