Recently, WWE has tried to uplift the NXT brand by having big names appear on the brand temporarily. The big names include John Cena, Paul Heyman, Becky Lynch, and Seth Rollins. Hence, Punk could make a few special appearances for a few episodes before he begins his feuds on the main roster. Interestingly, Punk’s former AEW mate Jade Cargill has also made appearance at NXT and is yet to fight a match.

Shawn Michael’s snarky remark towards CM Punk
In a moment of mixed emotions at NXT Deadline, Shawn Michaels playfully teased CM Punk upon the latter’s return, making a cheeky remark about Punk’s hoodie. The hoodie in reference had the mark Hitman, a nickname that belongs to Bret Hart. Despite Michaels’ history of tension with Bret Hart, he shares a fondness for Punk.
The comment on Punk’s hoodie subtly alludes to the enduring rivalry between Michaels and Hart, rooted in their wrestling days and the infamous Montreal Screwjob in 1997. Punk’s appearance at NXT is part of his ongoing storyline, as he contemplates which WWE brand to join, having already appeared on RAW and SmackDown in recent weeks.
