CM Punk has his own issues to worry about for now as he has been feuding with two top stars at a time. Despite having his plate full of things that he yet has to deal with, Punk doesn’t stop supporting other wrestlers. He was recently spotted on MVP’s account, who is reportedly leaving WWE behind. Multiple layoffs could be incoming in both WWE and AEW and Montell Vontavious Porter is one of the names on the list to get released from the company. Amidst all the chaos, Punk was seen supporting his future move.
The reports about MVP and another one of his former Hurt Business members leaving WWE have been going viral on social media. Since he is leaving around the same time as AEW is also reported to be losing some stars, fans predicted that perhaps MVP could also be headed there, jumping ships.
However, now he has revealed on social media that he is re-entering martial arts that he may have left behind when he became a full-time wrestler. The ex-WWE star is a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and recently uploaded a post on Instagram showing that he has enrolled his name in the IBJJF for tournaments moving further. The caption of the Instagram post read, “It’s registered and official in the books. I’m looking like a scruffy old man, but a wise one! 😆 Now it’s time to get back to these tournaments!!!!”

CM Punk was delighted to see this news on his feed when he opened social media and supported MVP for his future endeavors by commenting, “Let’s go!” Notably, before announcing the beginning of a new inning in his professional career, MVP recalled his glorious wrestling career. The two-time United States Champion, and a former World Tag Team Champion wrote in another post on Instagram, “I came back so my baby boy could see “Daddy” in a WWE ring. “The Royal Rumble.” That’s all I wanted. A one off. I was ready to retire. Then, I received an offer to become a producer.”
“The pandemic hit. I became a producer AND a commentator for Main Event. Next, they asked me to put the boots on and help out with TV during the “PC Era”. One episode of RAW, “MVP” was in NINE segments! Heyman agreed to put me and Roberto together. I signed a full time talent contract. And then we made history. What a ride!!!!” he added.

CM Punk cheered from the sides for Drew McIntyre in 2020
Due to some unfortunate differences, Punk left WWE in 2014. But it wasn’t before he had seen Drew McIntyre in the Stamford-based company. After several years, when the WWE legend was minding his own business, working out and hosting a live on Instagram simultaneously, one fan pointed out that McIntyre had won the WWE Championship. The year was 2020 when Punk had already become a matter of the past for fans of the Stamford-based company. Even though he wasn’t a part of the roster anymore, the wrestler still congratulated McIntyre.

He also had seen the interview in which WWE’s first Scottish champion claimed that if he had gotten this chance shortly after his debut in the leading wrestling promotion, he wouldn’t have done it justice. CM Punk criticized Drew McIntyre for talking like that about himself and advised that this is not the kind of attitude that one should ever have. This was probably worthy advice for The Scottish Warrior to keep.
Both these instances show how CM Punk doesn’t seem to mind supporting fellow talents, irrespective of their workplace and future destinations. What are your thoughts about CM Punk’s message to MVP? Let us know in the comments below.
