CM Punk got involved in proceedings to great effect at WWE Clash at The Castle 2024. He interfered and cost Drew McIntyre the World Heavyweight Championship match against Damian Priest. This invited the wrath of the Scotsman as he looked to exact vengeance. He quit the company owing to the frustrations he felt and the misery he endured. However, the announcement soon emerged as a red herring as the Scotsman exacted revenge against CM Punk. After his promo with Paul Heyman and Solo Sikoa at the start of an episode of WWE SmackDown later that week, Punk was on the receiving end of an attack by none other than Drew McIntyre.
The Scottish Warrior attacked him in the parking lot of the Allstate Arena. McIntyre took a bloodied Punk to the entrance ramp to the boos of the crowd and the anger of Nick Aldis. It doesn’t look like the WWE Universe will have to wait on further developments in this story as CM Punk was spotted breaking kayfabe. Nevertheless, it seems like there is already another rivalry that the WWE might’ve planned for the Cult of Personality.
The Chicago-based star would have to harness all the weapons in his arsenal once the Tribal Chief Roman Reigns marks his much-awaited return. Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez, renowned journalists and hosts of the latest edition of the F4W podcast, recently discussed everything that has been happening on and off-screen in the pro wrestling universe. And it was during this podcast that they discussed the future storylines that the WWE could build for their top stars. And while everyone is aware that Roman Reigns might make his return around SummerSlam, and so will CM Punk. So, will the two square off? Well, not according to the hosts.

Roman Reigns is the face of the company and is most likely to either feud with the Bloodline or go one-on-one against the new top face, Cody Rhodes. So Punk would be playing second fiddle in terms of drawing power by possibly participating in a rivalry with Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins instead. They said, “RAW’s gonna have, you know, Seth Rollins and CM Punk. Well, that’s fine, but like these are your two absolute top babyfaces, Cody and Roman. CM Punk’s big draw, though, he is, but I agree that, I would not put him at the level of Cody and Roman right now.”
And that remains the right option, considering the problematic past between Punk and Rollins.

Well, that seems about right, as Punk would be a better fit to face Seth Rollins for now. And possibly for the World Heavyweight Championship, as the Visionary could dethrone Damian Priest in the Money in the Bank. And who knows, maybe the feud will get such momentum that Punk might finally fulfill his wish to mainevent the Showcase of the Immortals!
