Ever since Drew McIntyre injured CM Punk at this year’s Royal Rumble, the Scot rejoiced over it, provoking Punk’s fury. The latter, seeking revenge, attacked McIntyre after he was crowned World Heavyweight Champion, opening the door for Damian Priest to trade in his briefcase and defeat him. In addition, Punk also cost McIntyre two more matches at Clash at the Castle and Money in the Bank, respectively.

However, Punk ended up costing Seth Rollins the opportunity as well, who was appointed special referee for their confrontation at SummerSlam, where McIntyre achieved victory. The match began with an aggressive pace, with both fighters hitting each other with clenched fists. Seth Rollins, trying to avoid a disqualification, avoided looking at the blows with objects. However, when he was pushed and couldn’t make it in time for CM Punk’s count after a GTS, a frustrated Punk applied a GTS to Rollins.

This allowed McIntyre to take the opportunity to hit a Claymore Kick and take the win by pinfall. However, it wasn’t just the GTS to the special referee that cost him the match, as it was also his obsession with the bracelet that McIntyre had earlier stolen a few days ago that might’ve led to the downfall of the Cult of Personality.

During the match, Punk took his bracelet away from McIntyre’s hand. However, when Seth Rollins wore it as well later on during the match, it led Punk to lose his cool once and for all, ultimately leading to his defeat.

But did you wonder how the bracelet survived the highly intense match and the constant snatching of it? Well, we have the answer to your curious question. As the creator of the bracelet has herself answered the question on X, she revealed that she did the double knot that stopped it from breaking. As she wrote, “I did double knot it tbh.”

Well, it truly was an important object that changed the course of the match. Drew McIntyre took the win in his first singles match against CM Punk. In addition, ‘The Best in the World’ has not won a match in WWE for more than ten years, with his last televised victory being when he defeated Billy Gunn on an episode of Monday Night RAW in January 2014. As for Rollins, he might’ve backed out on his words during his appearance as a referee.

Seth Rollins earlier said he would be all fair

During his recent appearance on SportsCenter, Seth Rollins was asked about the match between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre and the possibility of him interfering physically. Rollins assured that his intention is to stay out of it, but guaranteed that he will strive to ensure a great fight between the two, allowing both to destroy each other.

This match between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre was expected to be the first of a long rivalry. But it was also expected to set up a continuation point for Seth Rollins to continue to develop his feud with both wrestlers, especially CM Punk, whom he was supposed to face at WrestleMania XL before he suffered an injury.
