During the Royal Rumble in January, CM Punk incurred an injury following Drew McIntyre’s delivery of a Future Shock DDT. Later on, embracing his responsibility, Mclntyre released merchandise that showcases the iconic meme of a man showing a peace out sign next to a grave but with himself replacing the man in the center place. Adding to that, he put ‘CM Punk’s WrestleMania Main Event 2024-2024’ as a sign of disrespect. It culminated into a point of further contention between the arch-rivals as Punk taunted, saying he would have never referenced another wrestler’s name to sell his T-shirt. Punk finally returned the favor fully to the Scotsman by posting the same meme but this time he put himself as the center figure while McIntyre took his place in the grave.
