Did CM Punk's verbal botch prove he's lost his edge in WWE?

The Raw before SummerSlam started off on a dramatic note with Seth Freakin Rollins rolling into the stage in eccentric gear. He reminded the world once again of his specified role in SummerSlam. Next, we got the entry of the two main characters from Rollins’ SummerSlam affairs, CM Punk, and Drew Mclntyre. Leaving no space for them to initiate any drama, The Visionary quickly laid out his referee vision for the grudge match scheduled on August 3rd. That said, Punk non-surprisingly fired back but seemingly messed up with his sentence fling big time.

CM Punk screwed up while delivering a savage to Drew McIntyre and Seth Rollins

Rollins stood between the Scotsman, and the Second City Saint and sensed tension that could escalate. To let it not spread further, he clearly said the duo couldn’t touch each other until their official match hour kicked in. Otherwise, the match will be called off. While CM Punk was on Rollins’ bad book since the beginning, Mclntyre jumped on to exploit that in his faith as he mistakenly thought this was an advantage for him. Rollins quickly put a dent in his thoughts by reiterating that he hates him as much as he hates Punk. Now, when CM Punk got his hands on the mic, he dubbed Rollins as a ‘boot-licking office boy. Then he went on to attack both Rollins and his arch nemesis, standing over there noting they both suffer ‘for’ Punk arrangement syndrome. The ‘for’ instead of from was clearly a botch you might have missed.

Have an interesting take?

While technically Cody Rhodes and Solo Sikoa will headline the major PLE this Saturday, as per the veteran critics, it’s the boiling tirades between Punk and Mclntyre that are gaining huge traction even before it materializes inside the ring. Dave Meltzer accredited Punk’s unmatched resilience to start over fresh coming from injury and put his match over the main event on paper.

The praise made absolute sense, given how Punk carved out his path in the division after a rocky beginning. Returning to the promotion after 10 years in Survivor Series seemed a breath of fresh air in the 45-year-old’s controversy-filled career. But the honeymoon phase quickly fizzled out with the Seventh City Saint receiving a torn tricep at Royal Rumble, leading to his prolonged abandonment from the active in-ring space. However, even not competing in a match, Punk didn’t back off from continuing his feud with Drew McIntyre. Apart from annihilating him on TV and social media, Punk cost his arch-nemesis the ultimate loss at Money in the Bank. Now, it would be a sight to behold to see both of the furious rivals bring their bad blood to Cleveland.

In addition, Seth Rollins’ inclusion as the guest referee smelled all mischievous. The way the Visionary brushed both of the competitors off on Raw tonight, laying out a set of unbiased rules states clearly that Rollins will be in his ‘my way or the highway’ mood on Saturday.

So, the match is going to be gritty undoubtedly.
