You can never see him for real. John Cena, 37, is packing his bags to leave the building. To give it away to his fans, the second family, the Cenation leader, made a surprise visit tonight at Scotiabank Arena, Toronto. Although the crowd seemed heartbroken and flabbergasted at first, as the legend let his emotion flow through an explanatory and sensible speech, the gloom turned into immense gratitude. Fans busted into the unbridled ‘Thank You, Cena’ chants, keeping it as fair as it should be.
However, it’s not just the fans who wanted to spend more time with The Champ. The villain of the night, CM Punk, also had the same intention toward the veteran. Albeit for a different purpose.

Punk unleashed another wave of carnage on his arch-nemesis, Drew Mclntyre. For the third time in a row, the self-acclaimed Best in the World put a dent into the Scottish Warrior’s world title aspirations out of extreme ego and obsession.
Shortly after that, the Second City Saint got caught in a full banter mood, divulging his thoughts about a retiring John Cena.
During the post-event conference, the 45-year-old noted, ”I texted him right away, and I said, ‘Don’t leave before you say hi to me’. And he texted back, ‘Haha, have a good one tonight’. And I immediately took that as ‘Piss off, I’m leaving’, so… “I know he’s busy, he’s filming Peacemaker so I figured he was leaving right away, I was pleasantly surprised to run into him afterward and I told him I’ll be the guy that drags him out of retirement, this retirement, that he says he’s going to adhere to, and this is it, and when the final one happens that’s going to be it. Like, 15 years, I will drag him out of retirement.”
So, are we seeing a redemption of MITB and SummerSlam 2011 featuring the two wrestling moguls? While the answer is, for now, uncertain, Punk’s respect and admiration for the face of the company will be intact, regardless. And that comes as no surprise due to the Chicago-based star’s admiration for the Hollywood star.
CM Punk has huge respect for John Cena despite prolonged in-ring rivalry
John Cena, the most prolific face in the business for the last few decades, and CM Punk hold a very different undertone when it comes to their in-ring style and gimmicks. But when they collide, they bring out the best in each other. The legendary rivalry in history brewed over a match on Raw in 2009, leading to a captivating feud in the subsequent years. One of their biggest clashes descended upon the ring in the year 2011 through two back-to-back matches in MITB and SummerSlam with Punk topping Cena both times. The duo faced each other 14 times between 2009 and 2013.

But keeping aside all the kayfabe heat, Punk has been a huge fan of Cena. In the same post-event conference, Punk said Cena means a lot in his career and how proud he is of his former rival for everything he has done for the business.
