“The Best in the World” wasn’t a part of WCW when it was in its prime. However, as a prominent name in the wrestling industry, Punk knows the disaster that took place with the promotion. So, he was naturally intrigued by the title of the docuseries, hooking him to it. When the second episode promo came out on social media, it consisted of Bret Hart swearing about his co-stars and the rest of the backstage management in the company. CM Punk shared this reel on his Instagram story. The wrestler didn’t have to write anything, as the video was already self-explanatory. Even though the wrestling legend wasn’t naming anyone before swearing, his genuine emotions shined through on the screen.

There is a possibility that these shots were aimed at Eric Bischoff, among other names as well. This is because, on the paper, he played a pivotal part backstage in making major decisions. As a result, he would be considered a prominent personality who was responsible for bringing down WCW.

However, there was more than one mistake involved in the fall of the promotion. This is why the docuseries is broken down into four parts. One reason was explored by Ric Flair as well.

Ric Flair shared his opinion on the fall of WCW way before the series premiere

The Nature Boy has worked in several promotions, granting him the experience to notice when and why certain things go south. A couple of years ago, Ric Flair was found talking about the promotion that went downhill. The 75-year-old mentioned in an interview that, among other reasons, giving creative control to wrestlers was something that caused various problems.

Flair remarked that this authority should be exclusive, and this freedom is what killed WCW. We may see the docuseries elaborate on this aspect as the show moves forward.

Did you like the second episode? Do you believe CM Punk is as hooked on the show as the rest of the fanbase?
