CM Punk has finally appeared to have returned to WWE following a long injury hiatus. The last time fans saw him wrestle was at Royal Rumble 2024. After various twists and turns, he came back in the promotion at Money in the Bank to screw up both the challengers to the World Heavyweight Championship.
Later on during the post-show media conference, he was asked about his wife AJ Lee. The former wrestler is being talked about heavily on the internet for a much-awaited return. And now Punk also talked about the same publicly.

AJ Lee retired from WWE several years ago. Since 2015, she hasn’t been seen wrestling anywhere. Ever since her husband returned to the Stamford-based company, fans have been wanting to see Lee’s return as well. This is what brought up the question of her eventual signing with WWE during the MITB press conference.
CM Punk revealed, “You would have to ask my wife, but she’s not here. She’s taking care of Larry.” He did not want to say “Never say never,” but didn’t want to give fans false hopes either. This is why Punk also added, “It’s really all on her. She’s busy; I’m super proud of her. She’s doing her own thing. I don’t even know if I’m allowed to talk about this stuff. She has a production company started up, writing TV and movies.”

She is currently working in the entertainment industry, building up her own production company, which is keeping her busy, making it unlikely that she will appear in WWE anytime soon. However, there were previous reports that she was well-liked in the Stamford-based company and Punk also admitted to being a fan of her wrestling and would like to see her return.

CM Punk exposed his own kayfabe
At Clash at the Castle, we saw CM Punk in action after a long time. Although it wasn’t much, it was enough to give us hope that he may be coming back soon. On SmackDown 06/21, it was revealed that he would soon be cleared to wrestle again. Yet, things turned upside down when his past deeds caught up with him and Drew McIntyre left a bloodied version of him at the beginning of the arena ramp in Chicago. This made a few viewers doubt whether he was cleared to wrestle because this could have been the promotion’s way of showing that he needed some more rest.

However, later the same night, Punk was seen driving home in his car, confirming that he was in perfect condition. This also invited some criticism on him because he technically exposed the kayfabe that WWE uses to run its storylines. Some fans then could have predicted that he was or would be cleared to wrestle come MITB. Consequently, we saw the Best in the World in Toronto in full action, sabotaging his rivals once more.
