CM Punk has been out of the pro wrestling game ever since he suffered the unfortunate injury, possibly at Royal Rumble 2024. However, fans aren’t deprived of seeing the “Best in the World” in WWE. Punk has returned to WWE on various occasions following his torn tricep, sometimes entertaining us with interference between matches and delivering promos the other times.
His most recent appearance was on Friday Night SmackDown on 04/26 when the WWE legend addressed the crowd after the first night of WWE Draft got over. He provided an update on his injury and potential return.

The ex-AEW star was confirmed to appear on both brands for the 2024 WWE Draft. However, fans didn’t catch a good glimpse of him during the entire show. After the show went off-air, CM Punk delivered an in-ring segment, addressing fans worried about his return to wrestling. In a crowd clip recorded and uploaded on Twitter by a fan, we can see the Chicago-based wrestler talking to everyone present in the audience. “I want to give a little update. My tricep is not 100% yet, but I am on track, and I promise, soon, I will be back, and I will be competing with all of the big, tough badasses backstage,” said the top talent.

He had previously given an update on his situation before WrestleMania XL had arrived. Back then, CM Punk claimed that he may need 7-8 months for a full recovery. But now, he revealed that he would be back ‘soon’. So, there is a possibility that we might see Punk return to the ring at any PLE after Backlash 2024.

Since his return, fans have anticipated a match between CM Punk and Seth Rollins. The two wrestlers have a past real-life rivalry that WWE wanted to fire up to make their in-ring feud even better. This would have resulted in CM Punk possibly snatching away the title from the then-champion. Now that he was unable to bring the gold for himself, the Chicago-based wrestler didn’t want someone else to win it either.

After a turn of events, Damian Priest was able to cash in his Money in the Bank contract as he pinned Drew McIntyre shortly after his WrestleMania XL victory. Now, CM Punk may return to face Judgment Day to bring the title home, but his feud may start with Seth Rollins first.
