CM Punk had his first televised WWE match at the 2024 Royal Rumble after a decade. The fact that made this match more interesting was that Punk left WWE after the 2014  Royal Rumble. While fans wanted to see him win, unfortunately, he lost after being eliminated by Cody Rhodes. Fans were now excited to see how the fallout of the rumble would lead to a future storyline involving The Second City Saint. However, it looks like fans will have to wait for that as reports claim Punk might get shelved.

Is CM Punk getting shelved?

As revealed on the latest episode of the Bryan & Vinny Show, the star suffered an injury during his Royal Rumble bout. It has been stated that the people at WWE are speculating on a torn tricep. The speculation came when many noticed that during the match, Punk told the referee “my triceps,” when they came to check on him. As for now, Punk has been announced for the 1/29 episode of Monday Night Raw in Tampa, St. Petersburg. It is speculated that he might be addressing the injury.

At the 2024 Royal Rumble, Punk entered the ring at number 27. After entering, he had a brutal brawl with Drew McIntyre. It is speculated that Punk might have gotten injured during this brawl. Punk was able to eliminate McIntyre later. He was able to make it to the top two along with Cody Rhodes. He was eliminated by Rhodes at the end.

Punk returned to WWE at the 2023 Survivor Series which was held at the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois. His return was something that WWE was trying to keep under wraps and many stars on the roster were not aware of it.

Since his return, he got into a couple of verbal fights. Now the question is, with this speculation of injury, how these storylines might be altered.

Fans are very much aware of where WWE was going to take CM Punk’s story. He had made it clear upon arrival that he was not here to make friends and that he was at WWE to start his story. On the day when CM Punk signed with WWE Raw, fans saw an angry Seth Rollins storm into the ring to confront Punk. After a heated argument between the two, it was evident that the promotion was planning to pitch Punk against Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship title.

However, now it looks like WWE might have to alter their plans if Punk gets shelved due to the injury. While Rollins is also injured, he has stated that he is planning to return before WrestleMania 40. Who do you think should face Seth Rollins if CM Punk gets out of WrestleMania?
