WWE Clash at the Castle began on a high note. After hitting it off with a good start between Damage Control and the team of Bianca Belair, Alexa Bliss, and Asuka, WWE produced another fantastic match between Sheamus and Gunther.
After the match between Gunther and Sheamus, the fans were met with a match for the SmackDown Women’s Championship. The match had Liv Morgan going off against Shayna Baszler. Morgan went off against Baszler for the first time in WWE, and ended up defeating her.

At SummerSlam 2022, it was Ronda Rousey who went off against Liv Morgan for her championship. However, the match ended in an upset when Morgan ended up defending her title successfully owing to a controversial finish.
After Ronda was suspended from WWE, Baszler moved her attention towards Morgan and her championship. The two got engaged in a heated feud which culminated at Clash at the Castle.
