Vince McMahon’s run as the chairman of WWE was characterized by his desire to micro-manage things. Despite having a professional team of writers and producers, McMahon would meddle with their work and make last-minute changes.
At times, when things didn’t go right, he would let those in charge know clearly about it. Many of those who worked under McMahon would run through brick walls for him, while others simply couldn’t wait to get out.

One such individual who didn’t enjoy working in WWE under McMahon is the wrestling legend, Arn Anderson. Anderson had a distinguished career in NWA and then WCW. After his retirement, he worked as a producer for WWE. Recently, the icon revealed how it felt working under Vince McMahon and why he hated the job.
Why did Anderson not enjoy working under Vince McMahon?
Vince McMahon is responsible for creating a lot of legendary moments and superstars during his tenure as WWE’s chairman. The Mac Daddy also ran a tight ship and kept a close watch on everything that went on backstage and in the ring. Legendary referee Mike Chioda once recalled that he had to be on his toes while officiating McMahon’s matches and there was little margin for error.
Now WCW legend Arn Anderson has talked about how McMahon treated him when he was working as a producer in WWE. But McMahon would have the final say on the finish. The Enforcer said he didn’t like being in charge, only to have little to no authority over the matches.
On his ARN podcast, Anderson stated, “If you want the truth, I hated that job. I hated being in charge of matches that I had no power or authority. I was responsible for the end result. If the story that was told or the physicality was not good, the finish wasn’t good, whatever. Vince chewed my a** out.”
