The 2021 Royal Rumble was quite an eventful evening with pleasant surprises all around. Edge became the ultimate survivor, starting out from #1 and going all out to earn his spot in the main event of WrestleMania 37 in March.

Bianca Belair eliminated Rhea Ripley and went from #3 to the end, winning the women’s Rumble. While the win was huge, we also witnessed some heart-breaking betrayals in both matches.

The ‘Nature Boy’ is in his element as a sleazy heel, but one can’t help but cringe over his fling with Lacey Evans. She is clearly taking advantage of Flair to mess with Charlotte Flair‘s head, and a feud with the ‘Queen’ will carry her to the top of the WWE.

Asuka and Flair defended the Women’s Tag Team Championships against Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler on the Royal Rumble kick-off show. The champions faced a daunting task, but it got even harder once Evans and Flair walked to the ring. Flair handed a foreign object to Lacey, which she used to attack Charlotte, leading to the champions losing the titles.

Flair got a considerable amount of revenge in the Rumble match, attacking Evans for donning her robe. Ric is now a full-blown heel, and it will be interesting to see how this story progresses.

Women’s Tag Team Champions implode in the Royal Rumble

Despite winning the tag titles on the kick off show, Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler turned on each other in the Royal Rumble match. The lucrative WrestleMania title shot led to both women wailing away at each other and led to the elimination of Baszler.

The returning Lana eliminated Nia Jax, after which she and Shayna reunited to wreak havoc in the ring. After surveying the damage, they left the ring in silence. Strange bedfellows indeed.

Team Hell No follow a hug with a chokeslam

The men’s Royal Rumble saw the shocking return of Royal Rumble legend Kane. Knoxville County’s Mayor entered an excellent performance, which included two big eliminations. Apart from the eliminations, his reunion with Daniel Bryan was a nostalgic moment.

Bryan and Kane threw it back to 2012, reminding us of their hilarious segments with the infamous Dr. Shelby. After they shared a hug, Kane planted Bryan with a massive chokeslam before Damien Priest tossed him out.

The Bar reunite for less than a second

Sheamus and Cesaro were brutal rivals who turned into a superb tag team called the Bar. The Bar won both SmackDown and Raw Tag Team Championships and was regarded as one of the best impromptu tag teams in WWE history.

Cesaro looked to nail Sheamus with an uppercut but stopped to share a sweet moment with his former partner. Unfortunately for Sheamus, he was tipped over by Cesaro who performed the Cesaro Swing on him. Braun Strowman soon eliminated both men.
