At WWE TLC, Charlotte Flair made her return to WWE. She and Raw Women’s Champion Asuka won the Women’s Tag Team Championships from Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler. It was a monumental moment for Flair, since the win made her WWE’s latest Grand Slam Champion.

Charlotte Flair returns to WWE Raw

Flair made her first appearance on Monday Night Raw since losing the NXT Championship in June. She walked out to the ring by herself and declared that the ThunderDome would be nothing if not for the Queen. Flair showcased her signature Flair arrogance by saying that if her friend asks for help, and if there’s something in it for her, she would definitely accept.

She then introduced Asuka out to the ring. Flair described Asuka as the heartbeat of the division. Asuka joined Bayley and Sasha Banks in the list of double champions. The Raw Women’s Champion proudly declared that Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax were not ready for Asuka.

This comment grabbed the former champions’ attention as they marched to the ring. Jax welcomed Charlotte back to WWE. She then mocked her for taking six months off to heal an arm injury, but not fix her robotic voice. Flair fired back at Nia by saying that she ‘kicked her a**’ last night.

Former champions look for revenge

Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke walked out to the ring. They too had a pleasant laugh at the expense of the former champions. This lead to a tag team match between Nia and Shayna, and Dana and Mandy. Asuka and Charlotte took a seat at the commentary desk.

Mandy and Dana put up a good fight, but the former champions had a point to prove. Losing the tag team championships lit a fire underneath Shayna Baszler that was not visible at WWE TLC. She dominated both Rose and Brooke, submitting Dana with the Kirafuda Clutch.

After the match, Jax and Baszler stared down the champions, but were knocked down the apron by Brooke and Rose. Given WWE’s preference towards 50/50 booking, we will surely see a rematch next week. As for Flair and Asuka, they will be heading into 2021 as the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.
