Charlotte Flair was in a savage mood last Friday. After she made light work of her opponent during her in-ring return to WWE, the 14-time world champion took a dig at her dad, WWE legend Ric Flair. She locked her 33-year-old rival in ‘figure eight’, forcing the latter to tap out. Following the win, Asuka attacked her from behind, as she left Flair reeling inside the squared circle.
Notwithstanding the humiliation that took place earlier, Flair dug up her father’s past while celebrating her win. She also had some words for her attacker.

Following her loss to Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 39 on April 1, The Queen dropped her SmackDown Women’s championship. She then took a hiatus for weeks before coming back on an episode of RAW to challenge Asuka for her new title- WWE Women’s Championship. That match is scheduled for the June 30 episode of SmackDown.
But before that, Flair got some practice by jostling Lacey Evans. The 33-year-old was no match for the 14-time world champion, despite having better performances in the past. In January 2021, Evans was involved in a kayfabe romance with Ric Flair. The 16-time world champion managed Evans and even distracted his daughter during her match. When Evans conceived, WWE incorporated that in the storyline but could not continue for long as the 33-year-old took a maternity leave.

After her win last Friday, Charlotte Flair decided to take a cheeky jab at her old man. “Well, I want to go to Lacey first, I know my dad enjoyed that match (winks), definitely left him at home,” she told WWE correspondent Megan Morant backstage.

Charlotte Flair uses statistics to evaluate her feud against Asuka
Asuka and Charlotte Flair are two of the most dominating performers in the WWE women’s division. What the Japanese wrestler lacks in physicality, she makes it up with the presence of her mind. Asuka displayed her range as she overcame the brute strength of Bianca Belair at Night of Champions to win the WWE RAW Women’s Championship.
Flair isn’t in the dark about her opponent’s nature. “I know this is a different Asuka. I know it’s a more devious Asuka,” she said, adding, “but this is a different Charlotte Flair and diamonds are forever.”

The former SmackDown champion said she would deliver with her actions and prove who’s better. “As for Asuka, she knows I have her number. She’s never beaten me,” Flair revealed the statistics involved in their encounter. But a win against Asuka won’t safeguard her for long.
Belair, furious about not getting a rematch with Asuka, has thrown a challenge at Flair. The former RAW Women’s Champion has promised to be ringside during the title bout. So, anyone winning it will have to face her wrath.
