In the last three years, many WWE superstars have had the chance of being crowned champions. Almost all the major belts have had a change of owner. But two belts, WWE Championship and the Universal Championship, have not changed hands. Roman Reigns managed to unify the titles to become the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship and has remained so in his current run, which has crossed the prestigious 1000-day mark.
There have been many attempts to topple him from the top, but they all missed the mark. While it augurs well for Reigns, there are talents who have taken a shot at the promotion for being partial to ‘The Big Dog’. This was very evident after one of Reigns’ segments ran for over 30 minutes. Three-time world champion Sheamus was open about the issue as he protested it during a chat with Daily Mail recently.
What did Sheamus say?

The former WWE Champion has the experience of being the top guy in the company, albeit for shorter periods compared to Reigns’ run. He took offense at The Bloodline segment that went beyond 30 minutes at the iconic Madison Square Garden on July 7. The aforementioned episode of SmackDown featured The Usos, Reigns, Solo Sikoa in the Tribal Court segment.
Sheamus said that while it’s important for the WWE to tell The Bloodline story, there are others who deserve a spot too. “The rest of the roster needs story time too. With MSG [Madison Square Garden] a couple of weeks ago, they went 20 minutes over,” he said.
“So me and [Austin] Theory had two segs which ended up turning into three small segs on the floor, you know, so that’s tough as well to go out and do that,” Sheamus added.
Earlier, there were reports of backstage heat for those involved in the said segment because of the length. But it also begs the question- is the WWE truly partial towards Reigns or is there more to it?
Possible reasons behind Reigns and The Bloodline getting the lion’s share of WWE’s time
It is pretty common knowledge that you will be a preferred candidate if you keep on delivering. That is precisely the case with Roman Reigns and his stable – The Bloodline.

An important metric of popularity in the present day is social media reach. The last 10 reels featuring either Reigns or any other members of The Bloodline got around 13.12 million hits on the WWE Instagram page. This level of popularity is unmatched by others.
In fact, the only star to do better than Reigns and co. on social media in recent times is LA Knight, who too has been receiving a push lately. So, despite complaints about WWE’s partiality towards Reigns, one cannot fault the promotion for rewarding the stars who bring in big numbers.
