Tonight, WWE held the Clash at the Castle 2024 event in Glasgow, Scotland. In the main event of the night, Drew McIntyre faced Damian Priest for the World Heavyweight Championship. Despite his efforts, the Scottish Warrior again failed to achieve his goal of becoming the World Champion despite having the enormous support of his home country’s fans.
In the fight, both fighters began by exchanging blows without either clearly dominating. Damian Priest was then caught on the ropes with one of his legs, allowing Drew McIntyre to take control for a while. Despite the pain, the Judgment Day member managed to recover and respond to McIntyre. The match between Damian Priest and Drew McIntyre continued with very interesting moments, such as Priest’s South of Heaven and a Claymore kick by McIntyre that was close to giving him the victory.
However, the situation became complicated when the referee became unconscious, and CM Punk took over as referee. Punk took advantage to hit McIntyre with a low blow, allowing Priest to take the win with another South of Heaven. This spot truly left a sour taste in Wade Barrett’s mouth as he went on a tirade against the Cult of Personality. Even catching WWE COO Triple H with a few stray shots. He called out the COO for praising Punk.

Wade Barrett loses his cool at the COO
In the post-show panel, Wade Barrett shared his thoughts on Priest’s win. And he surely was not pleased by the manner in which the much-awaited Clash ended. The former leader of the Nexus called out Punk for interfering in the matchup and costing McIntyre another loss at the Clash at the Castle. That too in his own country.

And Barrett further took shots at Triple H for sharing his positive reactions toward having CM Punk back in the promotion and being excited to work with him. According to King Barrett, CM Punk is a poison for the WWE, and he does not respect the actions of the man or the opinions of the COO toward the Chicago Made.
He said, “To have the leader of this industry, the leader of WWE, a man who I’ve consistently respected, Triple H, come out and answer these issues with quotes like, ‘I’m happy to have Phil Brooks back’, ‘This is the Phil Brooks I wanna see’, ‘Thrilled and excited to work with him’, and here’s the real kicker, ‘Thank you CM Punk for helping change the culture behind the scenes at WWE’. I cannot respect any of that. That is nonsense. The man is poison. It’s BS.”
Wade Barrett is STILL PISSED about CM Punk, and now he's mad at Triple H too:
