Meeting your idol is rare. When your idol asks for your photo, it’s surreal. Former WWE star Maven Huffman recently shared a heartwarming encounter with wrestling legend Hulk Hogan. This happened during WrestleMania 18 in Toronto. Huffman, known for WWE’s Tough Enough and his wrestling career, revealed this special moment on his YouTube channel. In the second part of his video “Rating WWE Wrestlers I Worked With- 2”, Huffman talks about the dreamlike experience when the Hulkster himself asked for his photograph.
Hogan made Huffman’s autograph signing special
Recalling the cherished memory, Huffman revealed, “I’m doing an autograph signing, and out of the corner of my eye, I look over and I see Hulk Hogan walk in.” The excitement in Huffman’s voice was palpable as he described the unexpected encounter with one of wrestling’s biggest icons. As the autograph session concluded, Huffman took the opportunity to approach Hogan. “I’m walking up, going to shake his hand, you know, obviously show respect, tell him it’s such a pleasure meeting him,” Huffman said. He admitted that he didn’t expect Hogan to recognize him, but what followed left him in sheer amazement.

Hogan, known for his iconic catchphrase “brother,” extended his hand and greeted Huffman warmly. Huffman couldn’t have been more pleased. He recounted, “He asked me a question I never thought he would ask me. He said, ‘Hey, brother, can my son get a picture with you?'” The 46-year-old’s excitement knew no bounds as he readily agreed, saying, “Yeah, absolutely! Like, my gosh, absolutely!”, sharing that he could not comprehend the surreal moment.
For Huffman, this unexpected encounter with Hulk Hogan remains one of the coolest experiences of his life. “He probably saw me cheesing from ear to ear,” the former WWE star admitted, clearly touched by Hogan’s kindness. However, it’s not just his juniors as Hogan’s teammates have a similar opinion about him.
How working with Hogan was an honor for a heel
Muhammad Hassan, who played a character as an Arab American villain in WWE from 2004 to 2005, had a short rivalry with Hulk Hogan. During his time on the show, he described it as a once-in-a-lifetime experience and felt honored to work with Hulk Hogan. Hassan fondly remembered the occasion when he had the chance to be in the ring with Hulk Hogan.

They teamed up for a tag team match at Backlash, with Shawn Michaels partnering with Hogan and Daivari partnering with Hassan. He explained that Hulk Hogan was incredibly famous and popular among WWE fans. According to Hassan, Hogan was easy to work with in matches and had excellent communication skills. Both Hogan and Shawn Michaels made him feel comfortable during their match, which left a positive impression on him.

A good work about Hogan won’t be hard to find for wrestlers who have worked and interacted with him. Despite the legend himself not admitting his acumen in the squared circle, it is impossible to belittle his greatness.
