Hollywood entertainer of the yesteryear, Andy Kaufman was inducted in the 2023 WWE Hall of Fame ceremony because of his contribution to the world of wrestling. The world lost Kaufman way back in 1984. He was often described as a fantastic comedian and had involvement in some outstanding moments in TV history with shows like Saturday Night Live and many more.

Fans vividly remember Kaufman for his appearance on ‘The Late Show with David Letterman’ in 1982, where he was infamously slapped by pro wrestling legend Jerry Lawler in a scripted encounter. It marked one of the most popular crossovers between Hollywood and WWE. The two even had a match in Memphis. It was recently announced by Matt Grobar of Deadline that a documentary on Kaufman is in the works.

Award-winning filmmaker Clay Tweel is set to direct the feature documentary for Campfire Studios, Seven Bucks Productions, Worldwide Pants Incorporated, and Fifth Season. Dwayne Johnson, Dany Garcia, Brain Gerwitz, and Hiram Garcia of the Seven Bucks Production will serve as the producers of the project.

The documentary makers will have access to all of Kaufman’s personal archives, and family. It will focus on his beginnings and his creative choices. Kaufman is a legend in the entertainment business, and a feature-length documentary on him was long impending.
