WWE has set its fans and fanatics, who have been waiting with bated breath for The Beast to loom in for over the months, for a major disappointment. Brock Lesnar has not been anywhere near the WWE ring since SummerSlam last year, nor will he have a chance to be there anytime soon. Following an intense feud against Cody Rhodes, the 46-year-old saw his high-flying image blowing down’ with a new demon in the house. The same lawsuit from Janel Grant that sank the ship of Vince McMahon has dragged him down into the mud, too, to the point of withholding a return.

Given WWE already has written him off from several TV programs in the wake of the controversy, one could have thought that a return is near. But to their sigh of dismay, it’s not. As per the latest official update, there are still some legal hurdles entangled in the Beast’s path to the ring.

Brock Lesnar has been one of the key forces in the WWE center stage for decades. From ending the legendary WrestleMania streak of The Undertaker to holding the record of the seventh-longest world title reign in history, the next Big Thing’s feat in the business knows no bounds. But despite all the glory, the 10-time world champion had to face a massive humiliation following his inclusion in the infamous Vince McMahon lawsuit. Subsequently, he fell victim to a creative backlog.

Lesnar was set to wrestle Dominik Mysterio at Elimination Chamber 2024 and Intercontinental Champion Gunther at WrestleMania 40. But WWE scrapped those spots for the sake of playing it clean. They have also put him behind in the WWE 2k24 series for the same reason.

Appearing at the WrestleMania 40 press conference, Triple H confirmed that Lesnar is still with the company without giving away much about the company’s perception of him.

Amidst the clutter, Dave Meltzer came with another sabotaging update on Lesnar in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter:

”Regarding any rumors of Lesnar returning, he has to be cleared by WWE legal (remember WWE is still a defendant in the Janel Grant lawsuit) and that hasn’t happened yet.” it reads.

However, the only good thing is WWE has finally lifted the ban on mentioning Brock Lesnar on the live TV

WWE debunks the theory of banning Brock Lesnar’s name

For a prolonged period, WWE didn’t even mention The Beast during the live shows as a sign of disapproval of his alleged deed. Even during Paul Heyman’s Hall of Fame speech, one of his authentic clients, Brock Lesnar, wasn’t addressed in the video package properly.

But as time moves forward, it seems the company’s higher-ups are gradually loosening up. To everyone’s surprise, Michael Cole name-dropped Lesnar during the WWE King & Queen of Ring PLE. Cole said he was the last person to win the King of the Ring tournament with an added title shot at SummerSlam.

Given all the changes WWE underwent amidst his absence, it will be interesting to see how they plant The Beast back in the fold, if ever.
