WWE wanted to make the 2002 match with Austin happen this time around. After his successful return to the ring last year, WWE hoped to get the Texas Rattlesnake in the ring again. But Austin denied being involved in the match, and it is understandable given his age and health conditions. But even after Austin rejected the idea, Omos was not the direct second choice.
