The rivalry between Olympic Gold Medalist Kurt Angle and Brock Lesnar helped define the kick-start of the WWE Ruthless Aggression Era. The company approached Angle’s and Lesnar’s in-ring storytelling with brutal physicality, creating a unique style for each.
WWE Hall of Famer, on the latest episode of The Kurt Angle Show, took a memory trip to his wrestling days when The Beast terrified him with his insane power.
“Brock Lesnar, when he threw you, he was so strong and powerful. When you bumped, it hurt like a son of a b**ch,” Angle mentioned.

The words by Kurt Angle were because of his experience when he stepped inside the ring with The Beast Incarnate. In the early 2000s, WWE fans enjoyed ground and pound wrestling with submission maneuvers and intense moves between Lesnar and Angle.
What scares the Olympic Gold Medalist of WWE Beast’s Incarnate?
The biggest match between Kurt Angle and The Beast featured them main eventing at WrestleMania 19. WWE put Brock Lesnar vs. Kurt Angle over The Rock vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin to close the show. Both Olympic Gold Medalist and The Beast Incarnate put on an excellent performance for the audience at WrestleMania 19.
During the same conversation, Angle also discussed the physicality of former WWE Superstar Chris Jericho and the late Chris Benoit.
Angle said, “Chris Benoit, his chops were stiff as h*ll. They hurt like a son of a b**ch, and you ended up having bruises all over.”
“But with [Chris] Jericho as great of a worker he was, he’s one of the greatest of all time. That son of a b**ch was El Stiffo with the punches and kicks all the time,” Kurt Angle added.

However, Kurt Angle could never forget Lesnar’s powerhouse show during their WrestleMania 19 match. Lesnar lifted Angle high in the air with his strength and body-slammed him on the ring. Kurt Angle took this bump right on his back, which terrifies him of The Beast’s brutal power for the rest of his life.

At WrestleMania 19, Brock Lesnar proved to the Olympic Gold Medalist why he was the “Next Big Thing” in WWE. Lesnar’s wrestling moves impressed Angle when The Beast defeated Kurt Angle for the WWE Championship. Finally, they shared a mutually respectful handshake at the grandest stage of them all.
