Brock Lesnar Received a Priceless Advice From Hall of Famer Before Leaving WWE in 2004: “He Told That He Wanted to Try Out for the NFL”

‘The Beast’ Brock Lesnar has had multiple runs in WWE. The reigning WWE champion first joined WWE in 2022, and was immediately termed as the ‘next big thing’. Eventually, Lesnar had a meteoritic rise in WWE but decided to leave the company in 2004.

The WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle recently revealed in his podcast what was his exact words were when Lesnar mentioned he was leaving the company to explore other avenues.

Interestingly, Kurt Angle knew Brock would leave the company before the WWE Chairman Vince McMahon did. Speaking on the latest episode of the ‘Kurt Angle Show‘, the former WWE champion Kurt Angle revealed that back in 2004 he had a “private conversation” with the Beast Incarnate.

Angle confessed, “Brock had a private conversation with me about a month before WrestleMania [XX]. And, he told me that he wanted to try out for the NFL and that he didn’t like the travel that the WWE produced for him every year.”

Angle suggested that Brock should wait until the upcoming WrestleMania XX event and then tell the same thing to Vince.

“And I told him [that] listen, if I were you, I’d wait to after WrestleMania and then tell Vince [McMahon] that you’re unhappy and that you want to leave the company,” said Angle.

However, the youngest WWE Champion didn’t wait long and eventually told Vince McMahon about his decision well before WrestleMania XX. However, the WWE Chairman was caught up in a bit of a mix at that time.

WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg also clarified that he will leave the company after the WrestleMania XX event. Kurt Angle mentioned that when Brock broke the news of him leaving the company, Vince didn’t like it at first.

Kurt Angle admitted Vince didn’t like Lesnar’s decision. The Hall of Famer noted Vince wasn’t much concerned about Goldberg leaving the company. However, he was affected when ‘The Beast’ left.

“When you’re part of his [Vince McMahon] company, when you start out, he wants you there forever, you know, and when you leave, Vince [McMahon] can be a little bit unforgiving.” Angle noted.

Eventually, Lesnar and McMahon buried the hatchet. Currently, ‘The Beast’ is the reigning WWE Champion and will be headlining WrestleMania 38 against Roman Reigns in Dallas, Texas.
