There are two names in the pro-wrestling industry right now who are extremely similar, but from two generations – Brock Lesnar and Gable Steveson.
When Gable Steveson started making a name for himself in amateur wrestling, people started to realize he’s following a similar path that Brock Lesnar did.
One of the first similarities between them are their college wrestling careers. Both of them attended University of Minnesota. During their time at the university, they both represented the Minnesota Gophers in college wrestling.

During the four years of college, Brock Lesnar and Steveson competed in several matches.
The Beast has a record of 106-5 overall in his Minnesota Wrestling career. On the other hand, Gable Steveson has a record of 85-2 overall. While it looks like Brock Lesnar had more wins, he also had more losses.
Reportedly, Steveson has one of the highest winning percentages in the program’s history.
Next, Brock Lesnar secured the NCAA Championship once during his college. On the other hand, Steveson secured the NCAA Championship twice.
Considering the current records, it seems as though Gable Steveson has a better Minnesota Wrestling Record.

Can Gable Steveson become the next Brock Lesnar?
As of now, Steveson has been making his way to the top using a similar path like Lesnar. However, this is just the beginning.

Steveson is supposed to make his WWE debut sometime in May after his graduation. Following that, he will need to entice the audience the way The Beast did when he made his debut. His appearance and connection to the audience was strong enough for WWE to push him to being the WWE Champion in his rookie year.
Gable Steveson will need to work extremely hard to make an impact similar to what Brock Lesnar did when he made his debut.
