WrestleMania 35 had a different vibe to it. The whole WWE Universe was rooting for Kofi Kingston and he did not disappoint a soul at KofiMania 2019. When Kingston won his first-ever WWE Championship, it became an epic moment that will go down in the history books.
But the fans had to witness an equally sad and shocking moment in October later that year when the Ghanaian star lost his gold. At the 20th Anniversary of SmackDown, Brock Lesnar ended his 180 days reign when he captured the WWE Championship from him.

Kofi Kingston’s loss disheartened Daniel Bryan
Daniel Bryan (aka Bryan Danielson) was Kingston’s WrestleMania 35 opponent. He was the person who the latter defeated at KofiMania in 2019. But when seven months later, his opponent faced loss at the hands of The Beast, no one was more heartbroken than him.
Bryan had a taste of Lesnar’s star power after facing him in the 2018 Survivor series. Still, Kingston’s loss against The Beast left him disappointed.
Speaking with Ringer, the 41-year-old star revealed how he felt when the wrestler from Ghana lost his gold to The Conqueror in a 7-second match. He said, “The most demoralized I ever was seeing him [Kofi Kingston] lose it to Brock Lesnar the way that he did.”
Nevertheless, he spoke highly of his WrestleMania 35 opponent and also called him “a great human being.” He also praised Kingston for always having “a positive attitude.” In the interview, Bryan also confessed that KofiMania was his “favorite match” and also the “favorite part of his career” in the Stamford-based wrestling promotion. He says that it was like “magic” to him.
