WWE has been on a roll recently, with record-breaking numbers for many of its PLEs and becoming a bigger product than ever. Despite its huge level of popularity, however, the latest weekly iteration of RAW received the lowest viewership since January. Several fans link the dip in viewership to the disappearance of Roman Reigns.
A recent viral social media post showed the huge decrease in viewership of RAW’s episode on 21st August 2023. This came as a very big blow to the WWE management. Fans reacted to the social media post and expressed their disappointment over the no-show of Tribal Chief Roman Reigns.

Vince McMahon’s company enjoys the support of one of the most loyal fanbases in the world. The WWE Universe shows growth numbers, especially around grand events like Royal Rumble and WrestleMania. The WWE recently held the 36th edition of the SummerSlam which raked great viewership numbers. The Tribal Chief Roman Reigns had a great influence on these numbers.
He faced his cousin, Jey Uso at SummerSlam and came out on top. However, after the successful match, Roman Reigns went back to his hiatus away from the ring. While the WWE Universe hasn’t been very kind to Roman Reigns in recent times, they have finally acknowledged his appeal.

It turns out that they have now had a change of heart. The dip in viewership numbers and ratings is pure and definite proof of it. Fightful.com posted a tweet on X (formerly Twitter) and reported the poor ratings to pro wrestling fans.

Fans immediately jumped on and said that the root cause of viewership loss was the absence of their champion. Fans vented out their true feelings in the comments and demanded the return of Roman Reigns. Several fans also criticized the WWE for taking their fans for granted and not making an effort for their approval.

The WWE Universe also criticized the drop in the quality of content. Some fans also said that people need a break from repetitive stuff.

Not really surprising considering how repetitive the show has felt over the past few months.
They’ve run a similar variation of the same main event for almost 3 months now, there’s not much excitement or intrigue other than a few parts of the show.
