In a day of major announcements for WWE fans and PC game lovers, WWE 2K24 has announced more updates on their official game, developed by Visuals Concepts. After recently announcing different cover posters, they have announced major updates on match types while bringing back nostalgia for WWE fans. As per the announcement [https://www.wwe.com/section/wwe-2k24/article/wwe-2k24-cody-rhodes-rhea-ripley-bianca-belair-cover-superstars], WWE 2K24 will feature several franchise advancements and re-introduces many iconic match types such as Special referee, Casket match, and Gauntlet match. A special referee match is a common match type often used to bring intrigue into building storylines.“WWE 2K24 features several franchise advancements, including 2K Showcase…of the Immortals celebrating 40 years of WrestleMania, four new match types such as Ambulance and Special Guest Referee, two new MyRISE experiences, and much more,” WWE announced. Casket matches were made popular by the legendary WWE superstar The Undertaker. Gauntlet matches are rarely used these days, one of the last memorable uses of this match type was to build up Kofi Kingston for KofiMania.
