WWE Hall of Famer Edge made an emphatic return to WWE SmackDown, attacking Roman Reigns. His attack made his intentions clear; he is there to take care of unfinished business with the ‘Tribal Chief.’ And with the way he returned, it seems like things could get haywire now for Reigns.
Adam Pearce makes Edge vs Roman Reigns official for Money in the Bank
During Talking Smack, we saw exclusive footage of what went down after WWE SmackDown went off air with Edge. The ‘Rated-R Superstar‘ headed straight to WWE Official Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville’s office where he made a huge demand.

Edge said, “I want the match that should’ve happened at WrestleMania. Edge versus Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship, one on one. I want it at Money in the Bank for the Universal Championship, and I ain’t asking. I’m demanding!”

Just as Edge put forward his demand, Adam Pearce looked at Sonya Deville once and then told Edge he’s got his match. WWE then announced the match on their social media platforms, and it was official. No questions asked!
One wonders why the ‘Ultimate Opportunist’ is getting a shot at the Universal Championship. Well, Edge never got his one-on-one match with Roman Reigns in the main event of WrestleMania 37 despite winning the 2021 Royal Rumble match.
There was an undue advantage with Daniel Bryan in the mix.
Now that Daniel Bryan is nowhere near the title picture or WWE, Edge did the right thing by stepping up and demanding what he deserves. It’s certain it won’t be an easy ride for the ‘Head of the Table’ at Money in the Bank as the 11-time World Champion is poised to become a 12-time Champion.
As of now, there is no gimmick announced, and it doesn’t seem they would add any later too. No, not that Edge cannot compete in No DQ matches, but the Money in the Bank card already has two ladder matches for the MITB contract. Another stipulation match may become too much on the card.
