Edge made his massive return to television on WWE SmackDown: June 25th, 2021! He appeared in the arena when Roman Reigns was in the middle of a celebration.

Roman Reigns was celebrating his victory over Rey Mysterio at Hell in a Cell 2021. It was given that someone would interrupt this segment since WWE books such celebration or contract signing segments for chaos.

The common assumption was Rey and Dominik Mysterio would interrupt the segment, but no! It was The Rated-R Superstar.

Edge returned, fuelled with anger and frustration! He brutally attacked Roman Reigns and constantly banged Reigns’ head on the announcers’ table. He didn’t stop at Reigns but attacked Jimmy Uso with a spear as well.

It’s official that Roman Reigns’ next opponent will be Edge, and it’s only a matter of time before the company books them in a title match.

Roman Reigns had flattened Edge at WrestleMania 37

Earlier, when Edge returned to WWE, he was booked in a feud with Roman Reigns. However, prior to that booking, Edge won the Royal Rumble Men’s Match, which earned him the opportunity to challenge any champion of his choice at WrestleMania 37.

For weeks, he pondered over the decision. Finally, he challenged Universal Champion Roman Reigns.

Now, during the same time, Reigns had beef with Daniel Bryan. Therefore, the company turned the WrestleMania 37 main event between Reigns and the Rated-R Superstar into a triple threat match.

The Tribal Chief put Bryan and Edge on top of one another and emerged victorious with a double pinfall victory.

Following WrestleMania 37, Edge disappeared from WWE. When WWE announced the return of tours, The Rated-R Superstar was in the announcement advertisement. At this point, everyone assumed he would return at some point during the tour.

Now that he’s back, Roman Reigns and Edge will enter the tour as rivals. Whether or nor Reigns will continue to be the Universal Champion is something only time can tell.

Nevertheless, the Rated-R Superstar’s return to SmackDown confirms a heated feud, if not anything else. Furthermore, it’s not just Edge who has his eyes set in the Championship title. Even Seth Rollins has subtly hinted about his desire to take over the Universal Championship title.
