In the eyes of many wrestling fans, The Nature Boy Ric Flair has always been a man who’s a league above other men when it comes to women. His charisma and charm are something that no one in the wrestling industry has been able to copy. But according to the 16-time world champion, he wasn’t this way before his wrestling days.

When this new story came up, though, that prior admittance doesn’t hold up as Flair revealed a story from his high school days. To say it politely, he was flamboyant even back then.

Ric Flair admits to making a major mistake in his high school prom

In an interview with comedian, Theo Van, Flair revealed a hilarious story from his teenage days. He recalled how he met a girl and her mother and then invited the girl to the prom a few days later. But there was one big problem, he already had a girlfriend in high school who would’ve loved to go to the prom with Flair as well.

He recalled, “I ended up inviting her to prom without even thinking and I get a letter from her at school. She said my mom is flying me to Madison. Are you going to pick me up for the prom? I had a girlfriend in high school, boy that was bad. So I explained to her that I made a mistake.

But this isn’t the only time that Flair has opened up about his high school days. The last time he talked about his high school days though, he revealed how his most iconic gimmick was born.

Sharing high school stories once again, Ric Flair once opened up about how he got his Nature Boy persona. In an interview on The Pivot podcast, Flair revealed his inspiration for the Nature Boy was not his real life. Instead, it was Pro Football Hall of Famer Joe Namath who inspired him with the image of a playboy in real life.

He recalled on the podcast that in his high school days, Namath’s stories about his escapades with women were well known. Hearing about this made Flair light up about the character that would make him a legend.
