Rare Photo Shows 6-Year-Old Dwayne Johnson Enjoying a Special Moment in His ‘Hero’ Muhammad Ali’s Lap

Dwayne Johnson is someone who doesn’t need any introduction. Without a shadow of a doubt, the Hollywood Megastar had led a life in a way that has inspired many people all around the world. Similar to how DJ inspires the world, his inspiration was the greatest boxer of all time Muhammad Ali.

The boxing GOAT did engage in combat with a number of legendary fighters and defeated them during his storied career. Meanwhile, a photo of The Rock when he was 6 years old with Ali from when he was at the height of his career surfaced online recently.

Of course, everyone grows up admiring someone. Likewise, Ali was The Rock’s childhood hero. It’s interesting to note that at the time, Ali was perhaps the most prominent figure on the globe. Thus, many others looked to him as inspiration, and most recently, a rare image of DJ sitting on Ali’s lap resurfaced on the internet.

Well 6 years back DJ shared this picture after the demise of The Greatest where he told about his special connection with Ali. He claimed that Ali inspired him and numerous others to pursue excellence and put forth their maximum effort. Additionally, he told the photo’s background story when it was discussed on the Jimmy Kimmel Show.

The story of how Dwayne Johnson met his childhood hero

The Great One mentioned on the show that Rocky Johnson, DJ’s father, was a wrestler and that they traveled to New Zealand since wrestling wasn’t as well-known there as it is today. And while Johnson’s family was living in New Zealand at the time, he met Ali there.

In his words, “The People’s Champ we were over in New Zealand and he was promoting a fight over there. And my dad I believed had met him and sparred with him a couple of time. So then my mom took me over to the hotel that he was promoting at and I met him then. Pulled me up on his lap took a couple of pictures with me and since then he has been one of my heroes.”
