Pro wrestling entertainment reached a level of worldwide popularity, thanks to WWE. With the help of storylines, booking quality, and many other factors, WWE has amassed all of its glory and devoted followers. But one thing that set WWE apart from other businesses is its ability to attract well-known personalities, including Donald Trump, Mike Tyson, Muhammad Ali, and others. And Floyd Mayweather was one such celebrity.

Interestingly, Triple H was questioned in 2017 about if the WWE fans will be able to watch the boxing legend at WWE. HHH responded with a remark that fans of WWE and boxing will indeed like it.

No other boxer has ever ruled the sport as Mayweather has. With a perfect 50-0 record over more than 20 years in the sport, he continues to stand out. In an interview with Good Moring Britain, HHH was asked if fans may expect to see Mayweather in the ring, as WWE is known for signing famous superstars from many industries.

To that, Hunter replied, “You’ve seen Floyd Mayweather. Before Floyd Mayweather worked with Big Show fought The Big Show at WrestleMania in one of our grandest stages. And a huge fan you should promote, he is phenomenal.”

The idea of Mayweather appearing at HHH was made possible as, in the past, WWE had brought in other celebrities to boost the ratings of their programs or to give them more notoriety than they usually did. Additionally, the Chief Content Officer also argued that since Pretty Boy had previously made his WWE appearance and was a longtime fan, he was open to the idea. However, it didn’t happen yet.

When did Floyd Mayweather debut in the WWE?

Mayweather competed against former WWE Champion Big Show during his 2008 appearance at WrestleMania. Big Show dominated the majority of the contest, which was one-sided. However, Floyd could gain the advantage thanks to some of the others who came with him to the ring interfering from outside the arena.

Notably, it was revealed that WWE paid him a whopping $20 million. Bruce Prichard, however, has stated that it is untrue and WWE has never officially stated the real amount. Meanwhile, fans will find it interesting to see Mayweather fight again in the ring.
