“Bout Damn Time”, “I’m Kinda Sad” – Fans Get Divided on the Internet as Triple H Plans to Bring Back Old Gimmick of Former NXT Tag Champion

Ever since Paul “Triple H” Levesque took charge of the creative decisions in WWE, he has done everything he can to make the company reach new heights. For this reason, he has brought many changes in the company, including giving the superstars new gimmicks or returning them to their more successful old ones.

That being said, the wrestling world is abuzz with Hunter reportedly bringing back an old gimmick of a WWE star from his NXT days. This news has divided the WWE Universe, as some are okay with this decision, while others oppose the idea.

Triple H wants Pete Dunne back on the main roaster

WrestleVotes told GiveMeSports that The Creative Head of WWE is planning to bring back Pete Dunne, which is the old gimmick of Butch from his time in NXT. The Game might make this happen “by the end of this year.” Also, if this happens, the WWE star will not return as “a member of the Brawling Brutes.”

Butch – real name Peter Thomas England – began his journey in the Stamford-based promotion as Pete Dunne. He made his debut in the NXT UK brand in the United Kingdom in December 2016. In June 2019, WWE move him from NXT UK to NXT in the USA.

On the March 11 2022 edition of the blue brand, WWE brought Dunne to the main roster and changed his name to ‘Butch’ with a new gimmick. Joining forces with Sheamus and Ridge Holland, he entered SmackDown as a heel. After a month, he fought in his first match against Xavier woods, which he lost.

But now there is talk of reverting him back to his old Pete Dunne gimmick going forward. As soon as the gimmick change news hit the internet, fans started talking about it on social media.

It looks like fans have mixed opinions on the subject of HHH changing Butch’s gimmick back to Dunne. Some fans want it to happen. While others are not okay with the idea. They are happy with the current gimmick of the former WWE  NXT United Kingdom Champion.
