Dave Meltzer from Wrestling Observer recently released a report about the Scottish Psychopath‘s situation in WWE. In his newsletter, he revealed that there has been no change in his contract with WWE. This implies that he might leave the company after his contract ends, making him a free agent in the market.
The newsletter also mentioned that he will be out of action for some more time. He was reportedly injured at WrestleMania 39 during the triple threat match against the current WWE Intercontinental Champion Gunther and Sheamus for the title. Because of his injury, he was also pulled out from a WWE SmackDown episode last month.
Meltzer also mentioned how the wrestling promotion is planning to book him until his contract with the company ends. According to him, “McIntyre, right now is working with the idea there’s a good chance he’s finishing up. He could do a big program for the title as a challenger and finally leave.”

In the Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer shared WWE is thinking about turning McIntyre’s babyface character into a heel. He said, “They could turn Drew McIntyre heel and you know, especially with him possibly leaving, that’s probably the best move.”

“And then have him in a program with whichever of the two Cody or Seth Rollins they want to be as the number one guy in the brand for a while,” he added. The Scottish Psychopath‘s momentum as a face has declined ever since he failed to capture the title from Roman Reigns last year at Clash at the Castle in September.
